From community coffee mornings and table top sales to the more energetic abseiling and running marathons; colleagues across the Co-op have been challenging themselves over the past year to raise money as part of our Charity Partnership with the British Red Cross.

I recently met one of our Food colleagues who has set themselves a mountainous challenge. Anna, the dairy buyer for Co-op Food and self proclaimed novice climber will be trekking 120km through the Himalayas to reach the Everest Base Camp next spring.

Anna tells me that through her day to day job as a dairy buyer she works closely with a450g_bramley_apple_yoghurt_front_uk number of suppliers who have been impressed with her challenge. In fact, one such supplier, The Collective decided they wanted to help Anna reach her £50,000 fundraising target and have created a limited edition yoghurt.

The limited edition Bramley Apple and Spice flavoured yoghurt, which according to Anna tastes just like apple pie, will be sold in 300 of our stores across the UK up until April next year and 10p from every pot will go towards Anna’s fundraising pot for the British Red Cross.

Having already climbed Snowdon a couple of months ago, Anna is now spending as much
time as possible in the Lake District and Peak District as she trains for her Everest climb which begins on the 9th March 2017.

News of Anna’s challenge will be shared on Twitter through the #TacklingLoneliness

You can donate to support Anna on her Just Giving page.
