We filmed a short video so we could encourage more Co-op Members to choose their local cause before 8 April; after which a new contingent of 4,000 local causes will replace our existing 1% recipients for the next six months.
The shop is the charity’s main source of income and this comes at a particularly bad time for Steph, Heather and the team because they’ve just been faced with a £2,000 Vet’s bill for four poorly cats in their care.
We quickly got in touch with the team to check they were OK and popped by with a donation of £1000 on behalf of our Co-op and members to help the sanctuary get back on its feet. This donation is on top of the support our Co-op Members are already giving to Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary by choosing them as their local cause.
The team have since been allowed back into their shop, which is great news, meaning they can continue raising funds.
All current local causes, including Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary, will receive their share of our Co-op Members’ 1% community reward from 19 April.
You too can support Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary by donating online.
