Vegan products at your Co-op

Finding vegan food conveniently can be a challenge. We’re always working on new vegan products. Whether you follow a vegan diet day-to-day, you’re flexitarian or you just enjoy vegan options, we think you’ll love our Autumn additions.
New vegan products on our shelves
We’ve added some new products to our vegan range to include hearty prepared meals and delicious snacks, such as our:
- Lentil Dahl Soup, with carrot, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, chickpeas and lentils. It’s low fat, 1 of your 5 a day and only 113kcal per serving
- Three Bean Chilli, with cannellini beans, red kidney beans and black turtle beans in a tomato and chilli sauce, with seasonal red and yellow pepper rice
- Frozen Butternut Squash and Quinoa Roast, with an apple and plum sauce. Its low in sat fat, high in protein and a source of fibre
What other vegan products are available?
We offer a range of vegan options at our stores, from our very popular Jam and Custard Doughnuts, both of which are vegan, popcorn, as well as a number of our wines. It’s not just food and drink either, all our household cleaning products are cruelty free and many of them are vegan too.
You can also view the Vegan products available in the Co-op.
Please note however that our 2500+ stores are all different shapes and sizes, therefore stock is not always identical.
How can I identify vegan products at Co-op stores?
You can easily identify which our of Co-op own brand products by the “V” vegetarian & vegan symbol.

Looking to try a vegan diet?
Moving towards a more plant based diet can have benefits for your personal health and the health of the planet. The lower the meat, fish and dairy content, the lower the environmental impact. If you are following a vegan diet, make sure you are keeping a balanced intake of all your key food groups, the Government’s Eat Well guide shows you what your breakdown should be and encourages us to eat more beans and pulses.

It is great that co-op are producing a new range of Vegan foods.However, many of the packagings for these foods are not recyclable according to a friend of mine who has bought them. (I will be checking them out later today myself.) She has brought this up to the managers of her Co-Op, and I wish to support her by also bringing this up. We all need to keep an eye out and take action on even simplist or not so simple things like this. We can no longer turn a blind eye to what is happening to our beautiful planet Earth. Please can you bring this to the attention of the manufacturers of these new vegan food packagings. Best wishes, Ninotchka.

thanks for complete vegan list…I will definitely be shopping n the Coop more. Just a request…it’s quite a big list so I found it quite hard to find the products I was looking for. any chance it could be on the website with a search function or at least in alphabetical order?

You should be able to use the find function. If you’re on a pc you can do Ctrl+f or if you’re on a phone or table it should give you the option to ‘find on page’ or something similar from your options button (looks like a box with an arrow at the top on iPhone)

Bring back coop own brand toothpaste…my local store has stopped selling it and now only sells branded toothpaste . I love the fact there are no animal products and are cruelty free hence vegan as are a lot of the cleaning products .

hi just bought the co op prawn shells 80g.id checked your list of suitable for vegans products which it was on.i have just checked your list again and they are no longer there,instead there are a few cheese and onion flavour crisps,which im fairly sure arent vegan.so now im majorly confused! are the shells vegan? are your cheese puffs and cheese and onion crisps vegan? not sure i can trust anything on your list 😦

Please can we have it alphabetical by section, ie chilled, ambiant, household, cleaning etc? I have never seen such a messy list and its not going to help sales!!!

I’ve just clicked where it says “You can also view the full list of Vegan products availablie in the Co-op” and it brought up a list of things that aren’t all vegan – “ham” and “meat feast pizza” to quote two examples!

My biggest frustration when shopping in our local Co-ops is the lack of a vegan butter/spread. There are countless dairy based ones on the shelves, so any chance you could switch one out for something like Vitalite, or Pure? Please?

I’d love to be able to pick up nutritional yeast and vegan cheese from my local Co op and more desserts please! I’d lose it if you did a vegan tiramissu!
Also it would be fab if you could get the vegan quorn products in as you only do the fillets at the moment.

You are doing fabulous though btw and the labelling is super and makes it easier to shop. I’m especially loving the “crisp” granolas and I buy all my cleaning products from you 24+ at a time for my cleaning business x

I have tried to get our local one to stock the vegan sandwiches and its very hit and miss. When they do stock them they run out and they actually contacted me to say what elae to keep. I did suggest alpro yogurt but it didnt happen (walsall broadway/hawes road branch).

Thank you for the great Vegan options available for the meal deal, finally more choice than falafel and hummus! Please bring back the sweet corn fritter and pineapple salsa sandwich, that was the best!

With a Dutch wife, I am familiar with the Bapao savoury steam buns sold in the Netherlands and was very surprised to see one, then two varieities appear in my local Co-op store. But please can we have the vegan variety!?

And co-op’s own tortilla wraps. Thank you so much for these. Not easy to find vegan wraps any place due to mono and diglyceride of fatty acids often coming from animal sources. Keep up the good work. Co-op is now my first choice supermarket since going vegan.

Liking the vegan theme, particularly from an environmental perspective. However, looking at Kym’s trolley at least half of the packaging there is non-recyclable, certainly not by my local authority.
The other issue is palm oil. If Co-op really wants to be ethical it needs to eradicate palm oil from its products, even so-called “sustainable” palm oil.

Re palm oil, can you tell me whether the plantations from which Co-op sources palm oil were once rainforest. Or can you provide details of the locations where you source your palm oil from?

Many of our convenience stores are quite small and staff do have difficulty displaying Vegan foods together for ease and customer`s convenience. Stores need some form of in store communication to let members and customers know what Vegan foods are available and in stock at any point in time. The old notice boards worked well in the past !
