Locally Loved Northumberland Tea Hits 60 Co-op Stores

Co-op spent 2017 investing in local suppliers as part of their commitment to support, champion and celebrate local producers in our communities. We’re really delighted to announce we have agreed a deal to be one of their new suppliers – providing Northumberland tea to 60 Co-op stores in the North East.
Our tea
Our story began 4 years ago when we sold our small cafe business to look after my father, who lost his battle with cancer in 2013. We drank so many cuppas during my father’s illness and feeling well qualified we founded Northumberland Tea.
Our mission was to produce an ethically sourced, high quality tea and give back to the foundation we relied upon when looking after my father; the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation works on finding better ways to detect and treat cancer and we’re delighted that by working with the Co-op to increase the reach of Big Jack’s Tea, we’ll be raising valuable funds for this great cause.
Look out for our tea in North East stores from Teeside to Berwick, which bear the photo of World Cup winner and honorary ambassador, Jack Charlton OBE, declaring that our tea is “The best cup since 1966”.

This is marvellous. Northumberland Tea can easily rival the neighbours in Yorkshire and do a great deal of good into the bargain.
My father came from Bebside a small hamlet not far from Blyth and Ashington and my Grannies Nothumberland Tea was a good strong and refreshing Cuppa. Well done.
