If you’re a Co-op member, why not resolve to make 2020 the year when you get more involved in the Co-op you own?

Almost 150,000 members did just that last year; volunteering around 20,000 hours of their time to working with us to ensure that new Co-op products, policies and services better met the needs of members.

If you’ve not heard about how you can get involved with your Co-op, watch the short video below to see how we’ve been working with members over the past year.

From launching a member-designed pizza and creating new crisp flavours to developing new digital apps, by working with our members we achieved some great things at Co-op in 2019.

You’ve been participating in many different ways too, including through online surveys, product testing, website trials, attending Join In Live events and by putting your questions to board members and council representatives.

Through sharing personal stories and life experiences, our members have also helped us to explore topics such as period poverty, bereavement and youth loneliness. And, by working together, we are taking steps to break down some of the barriers that prevent people from talking about these issues.

A massive thanks to all the thousands of members who got involved last year. Your contributions are becoming ever-more important to the way we’re working as a business and my team and I are looking forward to hearing from you again in 2020.

This year, our members will be working with us to develop new food, insurance and Funeralcare products, test new online services, promote Fairtrade, share their priorities with our Members’ Council, support our charity partnership with Mind and provide the members’ eye view on loads more ideas we’re considering.

If you’re a member, don’t miss out on your chance to be part of these exciting collaborations. Head to your member account to see what opportunities are currently available.
